Where can I buy the textile kit?
- Students:
- You can purchase The Textile Kit either at your local campus bookstore, or click here to make an online purchase by clicking the link associated with your school.
- Instructors:
- We would be happy to send you a FREE 30-day review copy of the kit and software for adoption consideration. Please e-mail us at mail@atexinc.com to request it. Or if you have already adopted and need a desk copy, please contact us to let us know. Please include your name, your college or university, your campus mailing address, and your phone number.
- Industry Professionals:
- Non-student customers can purchase online via the "General Public" link on our catalog page.
- Bookstores:
- Please visit our Bookstores page for ordering information.
- International:
- If outside the U.S.A. or Canada, please contact us for products available for shipment to your location.
Where can I get a password for seeing more resources?
Professors, contact us if we have not already sent you login information for gaining access to the Instructor Tools accompanying the iTextiles CD. You will need to set up the customizable "myCourse" for your class using the Instructor Tools, or else your students will receive the default information there when they login using their CD Key only. You can also contact us for access to the Professor Resources accompanying The Textile Kit CD.
Students, you have the exact same resources on The Textile Kit CD as we have on The Textile Kit CD Resources Online page on this website. So if you need help, first try all the suggestions for Opening Your CDs on the "Student Help Desk" in the left column. The files run faster on CD than online so that is the preferred method. However, if you still can't open your CD after trying everything listed, contact us and we can give you access to the online files.
What edition am I using?
Just look in the lower right corner of the index, in the front of your binder. You will see the name of your edition, for example, “Pinnacle” or “Isis”.
Why do I have two CDs?
- For the Pinnacle Edition of The Textile Kit:

The red and white The Textile Kit CD in the front
of your binder is mostly just to help you assemble your kit. After that, you may not need this CD again, unless
your instructor requires you to complete some of the Study and Review Questions (SRQs) or Table-Top Labs (LABS). However, The Textile Kit CD has magnified images of all the samples in the
kit, so those may also be of interest to you as the course progresses.
However, the real excitement happens on the green and white iTextiles CD in the front of your binder. This incredible new CD contains a comprehensive electronic textbook, thousands of digital images,
lecture presentations, video clips, definitions, interactive self-study
questions, experiments and exercises, and more… everything you will need to learn about textiles in a very visual way, in conjunction with the actual physical samples in your kit. - For the Isis Edition of The Textile Kit:
- The blue Textile Professor CD contains lots of great basic textile information in both lecture and reference format. And the green Textile Applications CD contains many additional images and more detailed information about textile performance. Together these two CDs will give you a great picture of basic textiles.
Why won’t my CD open?

I’m having trouble putting my kit together.
Please read the assembly instructions in the front of your kit. If you have the new Pinnacle Edition, we also strongly recommend you use the Virtual Lab Assistant on the The Textile Kit CD (red and white CD) in the front of your kit. Every sample in the PowerPoint presentation may not match yours exactly, but for most people, the Virtual Lab Assistant is helpful in getting and staying on track.
What if part of the kit is missing or defective?
Just contact us within 60 days of purchase and we will send you whatever you need to make your kit complete. Please tell us edition you are using, sample name and number (if you are missing a swatch), your name, and complete mailing address. Our e-mail address is mail@atexinc.com.
Where is my textbook for this class?
If you are using the Pinnacle Edition, your instructor might not require a separate textbook. That’s because you have a complete electronic textbook on the green and white iTextiles CD located on the front of your kit. Check out all the features of this fantastic software!
My teacher assigned SRQs and LABs. Where are they?
Please check your red and white The Textile Kit CD for SRQs (Study and Review Questions) and LABS (Table-Top Labs). You can print out the PDF files and fill them in, or fill out the Word copies on your computer before printing them off or e-mailing them to your instructor.
What about Experiments and Exercises?
These are found on the green and white iTextiles CD.
Where is the interactive self-study so I can quiz myself?
These are on the iTextiles CD.
I ruined some of the pages in my kit. What should I do?
You can print out more pages from the "Other Resources" page on The Textile Kit CD. We recommend you print on cardstock for best results.
How can I return a kit?
Sorry, we cannot accept opened kits. If your kit is defective in any way, contact us within 60 days of purchase and we will make things right. If you have not opened your kit, your bookstore will probably take it back, or if you purchased it online, follow the instructions there for making a return within 30 days of purchase. If you are a bookstore and need to make returns of unopened, unsold kits, please visit our Bookstores page for bookstore returns policy and returns address.
Do you provide any warranties?
If your kit is missing a sample or is defective in any way, please notify us within sixty days of purchase and we will replace the missing or defective part. Except as provided above, this kit is provided "as is," and to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ATEXINC disclaims all other representations regarding this product, including its fitness for a particular purpose or its quality. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ATEXINC and its representatives are not liable for any indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages including but not limited to damages for loss of business, loss of profits or investment, or the like. Fiber contents of all samples are as represented to us by our suppliers, and have not been independently tested or verified. ATEXINC does not warrant that this kit is free from errors. Samples should NOT be used as a fiber content reference for testing, research, or legal purposes. The entire liability of ATEXINC for any reason shall be limited to the amount paid by the customer for the kit. This agreement sets forth ATEXINC's and its representatives' entire liability and your exclusive remedy with respect to the kit.
